INTRODUCTION
This will introduce methods for deleting text in Word.
Click means left-click.
DELETE A CHARACTER
Place the mouse pointer to the left of a character >
click > press the Del key.
Or
Place the mouse pointer to the right of a character >
click > press the Backspace key.
DELETE A WORD
Place the mouse pointer anywhere on a word > double-click
> press the Del key.
Or
Place the mouse pointer to the left of a word > hold
Ctrl > press the Del key.
Or
Place the mouse pointer to the right of a word > hold
Ctrl > press the Backspace key.
DELETE A BLOCK OF TEXT
Place mouse pointer at the beginning of a text block
> hold the left mouse button > drag to the end of the block > release the
mouse > press the Del key.
MOVE TEXT TO THE CLIPBOARD TO BE PASTED ELSEWHERE
Place mouse pointer at the beginning of a text block
> hold the left mouse button > drag to the end of the block > release the
mouse > select Edit + Cut.
Or
Place mouse pointer at the beginning of a text block
> hold the left mouse button > drag to the end of the block > release the
mouse > hold Shift > press the Del key.
Or
Place mouse pointer at the beginning of a text block
> click > press the F8 key > place the mouse pointer at the end of the
text block > click > hold Shift > press the Del key. Press the Esc
key to cancel further effects of F8.
PASTE TEXT STORED IN THE CLIPBOARD
Place mouse pointer where text is to be pasted > right-click
+ Paste.
DELETE ENTIRE DOCUMENT
Hold the Ctrl key > press the A key (or Edit + Select
All) > press the Del key.
