INTRODUCTION
My wife hangs a monthly calendar inside one of the kitchen cupboard
doors. Print Shop makes a nice calendar that leaves space for entry
of all of her daily appointments. You can make a simple calendar
or it can be made fancy with your favorite pictures.
OPEN PRINT SHOP TO THE "MAKE CALENDAR" OPTION
Open Print Shop > choose Calendars > click Start from scratch + Next
> select Monthly > scroll to the year 2008 > click January > click Next
> select Wide + OK. This displays the calendar, but the "January
2008" is much too large.
RESIZE THE CALENDAR ELEMENTS
Click anywhere on "January 2008" (this selects the date's text block)
> click and drag the bottom drag box upward until the box is only about
1/2 inch high > put the mouse pointer inside the text block and drag it
up until the top is slightly below the top dotted line. Click the
top line on the calendar (this selects the calendar's text block) > click
and drag the top center, left center, right center and bottom center drag
boxes and drag as far as possible while remaining inside the dotted lines
and below the date. This enlarges the squares to provide the most
space for writing notes.
CHANGE FORMATTING AND OTHER THINGS
Click Edit (on the Menu bar) > click Calendar Grid Style > change the
font to Times New Roman > change the Style to Bold > put (or leave) a checkmark
in the top 3 Options > click OK.
BEFORE YOU PRINT
Be aware that you will be printing one page or month at a time.
You may insert a different picture in each month's page if desired.
The picture(s) should be resized to fit in one of the unused squares.
To insert a picture, click Insert + Graphic/Image + Import/ClickArt > navigate
to your graphics folder > click a picture > click OK. Move and resize
the picture while it is selected. If you prefer a large picture,
drag a corner of the picture to fill as much of the calendar as possible
> drag picture to center > click Effects + Tint > select 20% > click Arrange
+ Layer + Send to back.
PRINTING
To print the January 2008 calendar, hold the Ctrl key and press the
P key > click OK. To change to February and other months, click Edit
(on the Menu bar) > click Change Month > select the desired month > click
OK. If you are adding a different picture click the unwanted picture
> press the Del key > add new picture as described above before printing.
CONCLUSION
Print Shop also prints Yearly, Weekly and Daily calendars. Similar
procedures are followed for each type. The Daily calendar would be
rather cumbersome since you must set up each day before printing (365 days
per year). In this case, you would probably print 5 or 7 days at
a time. Weekly calendars would require 52 separate Edit + Change
Week + Print operations.
