PRINT SHOP ADDRESS LISTS AND LABELS


 

INTRODUCTION
Print Shop makes it easy to create an address list.  Labels can be set up to print a selected name or to print all names selected from the list. You can also choose the starting label position on the paper.

OPEN PRINT SHOP 6
Click the Print Shop 6 icon (on the Desktop).  Select Labels + Start from Scratch > click Next + #5160-Address > click OK

DESIGN LABEL
POSITION AND SIZE TEXT BLOCK
Click Insert + Text Block > (position and size the text block to fit within the dotted lines on the label): (when mouse pointer is inside the text block, (hand), hold left mouse button  and drag to upper left corner of label) (move mouse pointer to lower right corner of text block, (diagonal double arrow), left-click and drag to the lower right corner of label)
ADD ADDRESS
Double-click inside the text block (text is highlighted) > click Text + Insert Address/List Field >  click Complete Address + OK (this defines the fields that will be inserted when label is printed)
CUSTOMIZE FONT
Highlight the “Complete Address” > click the Center icon (on the menu bar) > click the down arrow to right of the “font name” and select a font such as Jester > click the down arrow to right of the “font size” and select a size of 12 > click the color chart + Object > click a color
POSITION THE COMPLETE ADDRESS
(Click off the label and click on the label to view the text block) > place the mouse pointer at the center of the bottom of the text block, “vertical double arrow” > left-click and drag the bottom of the text block up to allow equal space above and below the “Complete Address” > place mouse pointer inside the text block, (hand) > hold left mouse button and drag the text block down until it is centered on the label.

CREATE AN ADDRESS LIST
Click Tools + Edit Address List + New List > (enter First Name, Last Name, Address, City, State, Zip Code) > click Add Entry > (repeat for at least 3 people) > click OK > (The list has changed since its last save.  Do you want to save the latest changes?) > click Yes > “File Name:” > (type a short name such as Jerrys List) > click down arrow to right of the “Save In:” field and navigate to C:\The Print Shop Products\The Print Shop 6\The Print Shop 6\Projects (or C:\Program Files\The Print Shop Products……Projects) (it is necessary to double click each folder to force it into the “Save in:” field) > click Save

SAVE THE LABEL
Click File + Save As > “Save in:” should be Projects > “File Name:” type something such as Universal Label

PRINT ONE LABEL
Look at a #5160-Address sheet and determine position of last printed label > insert sheet into printer tray > hold Ctrl and press P + Change List > click a name + OK > click the label starting position > click Print

PRINT COMPLETE LIST
Hold Ctrl and press P + Change List > click Select All + OK > click the label starting position > click Print

PUT  SHORTCUT ON THE DESKTOP
With the label displayed, click File + Save As… > in the “Save In:” field press the down arrow and select Desktop > (name and file type are probably OK) > click Save.

CONCLUSION
You should follow through and add all your relatives and “snail mail” friends to the address list.  With the shortcut on the Desktop, you can handily print selected labels and envelopes.  It’s fun and easy.
